Got this lobo coral (I think it’s a lobo) 2 weeks ago and started to get “spikey”. I’m curious to know why that is or what may have caused it so I can hopefully correct it before it’s too late. Also, yes I’m currently battling red flatworms. Please try to ignore them lol. First picture is of it is a few days after I got it. Second is today.

While still happy, it's not perfect. The "spikes" are the beginnings of it's skeleton showing through, meaning its flesh is less inflated than before. No mention of your parameters. Coral pests don't help either lol.

Do the red flatworms actually harm coral? Going to get flatworm exit today. But curious on red planaria and how they actually harm corals.

Certain flatworms harm coral, especially those that are already struggling. Which ones those are, I'm not 100% on.

Are those levels consistent? Nitrate readings? Age of the tank? Just trying to get a better picture of your tank. A subtle change in coral appearance can be changed by simply moving it sometimes.

Your issues are identified- Phos is elevated (you want .04-.06) and yes red planaria are an issue. Siphon as many of the flatworms as you can with a 3/8" hose into a nylonstocking or similar and then add a wrasse that will eat them such as Yellow coris, 6 line. lunare or melanurus
Also a springieri damsel will eat them
For next 2 weeks, look for eggs which are really tiny and scrape them off outside of tank and discard

Your lobo seems to be showing skeleton through its flesh, which is not a good sign. It's probably because you have high phosphates. Do you
