I’m am just setting up my tank and adding live rock. One of the pieces of live rock I got from the aquarium shop appears to have some red growth on it that lights up under my blue light. At first I was excited and thought it was Coraline but now I’m not so sure. Please let me know what you think of the photos. It does scrape off with my thumbnail or wire brush.

It's all good – get it in there! :)

If it's something you want to get rid of decide later when you're more sure if it's even alive. (Some algae turn crazy colors as they die off....very likely after shipping stress and exposure to air.)

Looks like Cyano to me. But if its live rock you should prob get it in there. Deal with Cyano later if it doesn't go away on its own.

Thanks for the quick feedback. I put the rocks in like you suggested.
