Tank is 4 months old with fish only. Waiting for coralline to get established before I add corals. I have some cyano but is this coralline? It’s not the normal purple/ pink but I know he comes in various colors.

Also anyone try purple up by Carib sea? Results?

Agreed. I don’t think it’s coralline

Hard to tell, but looks more like cyano than coralline. Can you wipe/vacuum it off?
No it’s hard. I do have cyano but that’s the reddish stuff you see. The small orange bits is what I am referring to.

Coraline doesn't magically appear in your tank, it has to be introduced first.
Did you add snails that have similar colored coraline on their shells?

Snake oil. Does next to nothing. It just is a buffer that increases alk and calcium.
Coralline devours alk and calcium just like sps does. :- )

But learning about 2 part dosing would probably be a better use of their time. :- )
Just be testing and ready to supplement small amounts once you see it starting and it should take off.

Lol, had a bottle of Up for several years. Almost done using it up.

My build thread is called Hotel Coralline. ;- )

OP, as was suggested, you need to add a snail or hermit crab with coralline on the shell to start the process.
Or even a tiny bit of live rock with coralline on it. Preferably from a disease free tank!
That is all it will take. :- )
