I do not see a picture. But if it is a new system it certainly could be cyano! but have no fear, cyano is fixable

Just kidding i see the picture now, that looks like Coraline Algae. Good. Did you buy cooked (wet) live rock or dry?

yeah, sorry about that it seems I didn't actually attach it the first time lol. I bought dry rock from someone who had their tank taken down for a few months now.

Kind of looks like it.

How long and how did you cycle?
I have been cycling for about 3 weeks. I added some bacteria to the tank after it was set up and just let it sit for the last 3 weeks with testing twice a week.

I think its just coralline aglae, cyano in my experience has been a much darker color, more burgundy colored. AND you can siphon off cyano. take a toothbrush to it and try to scrub it off, if it comes loose its better to get it out

its not cyano, but it can't be coraline either. Coraline won't grow that much in just 3 weeks in a cycling tank. Its probably paint, whoever you bought them from bought purple painted rocks, many people buy that.

oh the green is just regular algae lol.
I saw the algae, but thought you were asking about the purple. Sorry

If you are running your lights during cycle that is whats causing the algae, I run my tank for 3 months before turning on the lights

I haven't had them on too much but I was having them on in the afternoon/ evening as auxiliary light.
