Is this dead?

Bought these as a frag pack from a big online supplier. I can't positively identify what they are, since there are so many similar looking types of coral. They have been in the tank for a couple weeks and I'm thinking they are dead. Can anyone help identify them and provide a medical opinion?

They are not dead no.
They are not thriving though and look little ruff.
1. I have no idea
2. Some sort of favia...
3. Chalice (mummy eye?)
4. Acan?

How do you not know what they are if you bought them? Were they not labeled? Or was it a grab bag sort of thing...?

Leave them be and post some info on your tank.
 
1-2-4 look pretty bad 3 looks like it’s trying to make it.

what are your water parameters? Size of your tank & age? Lights and intensity?

Tank = 75 gallon Read Sea Reefer XL, 3 years old
Lights = AI Hydra 26, mostly set to 40% UV-Blue for about 8 hours a day
Nitrate = 5-10 ppm
Phosphate = 0.5 - 1.0 ppm
Salinity = 1.0255
Calcium = 380 ppm
Mg = 1350 ppm
Ammonia, Nitrite = 0 ppm
pH = 8.3
dKH = 11
Temperature = 78

Yes, it was a $99 LPS package. Seems like a pretty common sort of thing to offer. They didn't come with any documentation.
 
Your phosphate is off chart my friend.
If true, this would definitely affect coral health.
PO4 should be in the 0.03-.1 range, your posted level is 5-15 times the “accepted” range.

This isnt necessarily true. Although it is high I do not think it is off the charts. Plenty of reefs on here in the 1.0ppm range PO4.
 
There is a few things that concern me of your parameters.
  1. Lights are pretty low unless you have 3-4 the par at the sandbed would be low for those corals
  2. Phosphates are a bit high and out the “normal” definitely could make it work but could shock corales coming from “normally accepted” parameters.
  3. The alkalinity is a bit high as well, even tho it’s proven 11dkh promotes faster growth it can also shock corales coming from lower alk tanks.

Is it .05-.1, if not phosphates are pretty high. I run mine at .20 and many will say that is too high.

It’s 5-15 times higher, that’s off the chart IMM for a trace element.
I’ve seen reefs up to .3 phosphate, but never a successful long term reef at 1.0ppm.

Theres reefs on here at 3.0ppm. I am not going to go find them but plenty at 1.0ppm. Not ideal I agree, but all tanks run different.
 
Thanks for the identifications. I'll work on lowering the phosphate and alkalinity.
