Is this diatoms?

I know the picture isn't that great but this a side shot of my 3 month old tank and I know I have diatom growth on my sand and rock but I can't identify this growth on the glass. It's attached to the glass but seems to have a base attached with a few tentacles or branches attached to that. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

It is highly possible that it is diatoms.
What is the water source you are using?

If it's filamentous it might be the start of GHA.

I use the BRS 6 stage = 0tds reading. It's like little dots so no sort of film. I haven't seen any pictures of diatoms that had this long structures and it's only on the glass but then again I'm new to the hobby.
