What treatment did you do? I’m currently battling dinos
You need to find out what kind of Dino that is or at least if it goes into water column or not. When lights first come on does the tank look clean? What treatment did you do? I’m currently battling dinos
+1Looks like it to me. What is your nitrate and phosphorus?
No light is first key followed by the addition of bacteria to overcome the bad bacteria allowing them to thrive
Prepare by starting by blowing this stuff loose with a turkey baster and siphon up loose particles. Turn lights off (at least white and run blue at 10-15% IF you have light dependant corals) for 5 days and at night dose 1ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons for all 5 nights. If you dont have light dependent coral- turn all lights off. During the day dose 1ml of liquid bacteria (such as micro bacter 7 or XLM) per 10 gallons. Clean filters daily and DO NOT FEED CORAL FOODS OR ADD NOPOX
You can feed fish as normal and if doing blackout, ambient light in room will work for them
Step one is going to be getting nitrate up.nitrate 0
phosphate 0.5
its dirty all day and night. i stirred the sand during night time and saw that it started to clump up with no light. You need to find out what kind of Dino that is or at least if it goes into water column or not. When lights first come on does the tank look clean?
i cant lol, I tried dosing, adding fish, adding more food.Step one is going to be getting nitrate up.
I have a ULNS tank that gets Dino’s once a year or so. Bacteria additives have never fixed this for me. Depending on if they go into water, Uv or DinoX clears them for me in 2-3 days. Since yours are not going into the water I would suggest getting your nitrate to 5+ppm and running a dinox cycle.its dirty all day and night. i stirred the sand during night time and saw that it started to clump up with no light.
It will go up. At some point you will hit the inflection point of everything that’s consuming nitrate.i cant lol, I tried dosing, adding fish, adding more food.
Your nutrients don't need to be on zero, get the nitrates up a little is the first step.
i wont be using dinox i saw some reviews that claimed it can kill corals.I have a ULNS tank that gets Dino’s once a year or so. Bacteria additives have never fixed this for me. Don’t dose “a lot”. Dose enough that it should add 2-3ppm. Dose, wait a bit, test, dose. Getting nitrate off 0 and adding some granular carbon will help mitigate damage to corals.I still have some neo nitro I can dose a lot and try to get a reading.
I’ve seen reviews of water killing coral. If I’m doubt as with most things microdose to start. Dinos if unchecked will kill coral for sure.i wont be using dinox i saw some reviews that claimed it can kill corals.
i tried dosing the recommended volume for like a week and saw no reading. ill probably have to dose more than recommended volume to see an outcome.Don’t dose “a lot”.
