I have been battling Ostreopsis for a few weeks, but I have not seen signs of them for the last few days after adding a UV sterilizer to my display. Today, I noticed a couple areas on a Montipora digitata frag where there's a lack of tissue. Suspecting nudibranchs, which I have beaten before, I put it under a microscope. What I saw were long strands and what appeared to be dinoflagellates, but none of them were moving. In advance, I apologize for the quality of the photo because it was quite difficult to get a usable photo given the shape of the frag.
I did not see nudibranchs, but these objects are on the exposed skeleton of the coral. Since Ostreopsis are toxic, and they were clinging to many of my corals over the recent weeks, I assume that these are stragglers that have yet to be eradicated and have caused tissue loss.
