I arrived home after a weekend away, and my corals are covered in a brown, stringy substance. My glass is also covered in a short, brown, algae-like substance. The substance that is on my corals is very long, at roughly four inches.

Possibly. Honestly not enough id worry yet.

I would.
Blow it off , stop any coral food aminos etc.
check that the Po4 doesn’t bottom out.
Look for those kinds of red flags.

I'm 98% sure its dinoflagellates I'm currently dealing with it as well. I even purchased a microscope to ID mine.
