Hi! Noticed this about a month ago. It has been getting progressively worse to the point the it is choking my birdsnest and red dragon.

This algae grows more aggressively under or near the powerheads. It is stringy, as long as 6-7 inches. Just long thin stands. Growth very quickly. Starting to choke the corals. Thanks

I want make sure I identify it correctly. I was going to start using H2O2 to treat dino, but not sure if thats the right thing.

Looks like it to me. I started using hydrogen peroxide and it has helped a lot. 1 ml for every ten gallons of water once a day. I have a 40g so I dose 4 ml everyday

Thanks, did you stop dosing or keep going. Is this stuff going to return?

I suppose you're using standard 3% peroxide solution?

Yep, the stuff from CVS. I have a 300 gal tank, with 50 gal sump. I'm gonna start with 30ml. Funny thing, no algae on rocks or bottom of tank. Just on some corals and back wall. Its begining to choke the corals though.

Good luck. That's what I used the 3%. If you used industrial 30% it would probably kill your fish
