Pretty much like the title says, is this Dino's? I had a all spike a week ago, and then this popped up. Checked everything all seems good. 9 ALK, 450 calc, nitrates 5, salt 1.026, pH 8.4, temp 80, but phosphates are 000 on Hanna low range.

Yep sure looks like Dinos. Try to get those nutrients up especially Nitrates and Phosphates. I’m battling myself right now and have been for the past 6 months. Have finally decided to try dosing Silica daily to help foster diatom growth

want It gone dose hydrogen proxide for 3 days 1 míl per ten gallons complete black out for 3 days and run a cheato reactor and feed more the. Usually after the third day u will see them disappear in a week it worked for me

yes dino brown color with bubbles on the top. use Dino x for 40 days treatment.

BRS has a very good video showing their battle. They took care of it pretty quickly! I believe they use Brightwell Clean, increased Nitrates and Phosphates, as well as added a UV sterilizer.

i used these methods and didn't work. Maybe each tank act differently. However, Dino X will remove it for sure.

Here’s what worked for me after battling this stuff for the better part of last year:

No water changes. I bought a UV sterilizer and connected it to the tank. I did a 5 day blackout. During the blackout I would blow off the sand, back wall and rocks to suspend the dinos in the water column, making it easier for them to go through the UV sterilizer. I also dosed 1mL of h2o2 during the blackout and for 3 weeks afterwards. After the blackout, I did a large water change (30%) and I only ran blue lights for the next 2 weeks. I also brought my nitrates and phosphate levels up to detectable levels since I had a lack of nutrients in my tank which caused the dinos to continue to thrive. I haven’t seen dinos in my tank in almost 3 months. Now i just have gha that my snails and crabs eat up.

most importantly though, you’ll want to identify the type of dinos you have so you can best prepare a plan of attack.

How do I do that? A microscope?
