I’ve been battling this stuff for a couple of months. Manually remove it and it comes right back. Haven’t tried anything treatment wise other than dosing hydrogen peroxide for about a week. Thought it was brown hair algae but now that bubbles are forming I’m thinking it’s dinos. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It’s hard to say. I see some green hair algae and likely cyano. Those are good things. If your corals and snails are ok, I doubt if you have lots of dinos. You could check with a microscope if you really want to know.

Looks like GHA (green hair algae), maybe high phosphates and nitrates. Might want to reduce your nutrients and add phosphate absorbing media.

Thank you for the response. Corals and all inverts are fine. Coralline algae has been growing a ton recently as well. Just added GFO. Hopefully that helps a bit.

I’m really hoping that’s what it is. I’ll try a few water changes and the GFO.
Please be very careful with gfo. Go extremely slow. If you want dinos, knocking down phosphates too low with gfo is the way to invite them in.

I don’t think it’s Dino’s. Like @dwest wrote, be careful lowering nutrients or you will probably get them.

I would choose hair algea that’s easily manually removed over Dino’s any day.
