Hello guys, bought my duncan online and its totally white, I thought it was because of travel, but 2 weeks later it still white. Totally healthy by the way, openning all day loong and eating a lot :D is that color normal? Or it will regain that green and purple color?

What lights do you use? To get the bright greens and the purple skin, blue light is used. Looks like you are running whites.

Looks healthy to me. Will you please try to get some more pictures of it? What did they sell it as?
Just as duncan, I thought it only existed one type of duncan.. dont know if it lost color or if its like just like that, but she arrived like that.

I don't know if it's being over exposed to light or not. But since it is lacking the green, I wonder if it is a different type of duncan. I would leave it and watch for colors to develop. If it keeps turning white, I would lower it closer to the bottom.

Yeah it could be too much lighting. But sometimes it just takes time for corals to better color up, and acclimate to the tank. Sometimes Duncans have more of a teal color, and show it more in blue light. Should be fine. If it does not change after a little while then try moving it lower. But it could just be a little light shocked if it was not acclimated to the higher light.

There are various color morphs and then there is large and a small morph, but they’re all the same species (at least for now, these things seem to change fairly often). But all of the color morphs are flesh colored with a tint of green or pink or blue. The one I have right now is a really pretty teal.

Oh, ok, I didn’t know if they sold it as white or something of that sort.

It’s probably too much light or flow. My cinnamon palys turned almost complete white due to them being too close to the surface. And looking at the Duncan’s location in the tank, it seems this might be the case.

Its a lil bit more purple then, I guess, not getting whiter for sure

Awesome, do u know how much time for it to get in its best?

I was bot considering its location because it got here that color already.. hopping to see those pink colors as soon as possible. Since it appears to be healthy and thriving in that place, Im gonna leave it there for a month or 2, I noticed a lil bit of purple color starting to appear.

It’s hard to say. It always depends, but maybe a couple weeks to a month. Things like coloration and stress on corals can take time to get sorted out. I can’t really give a clear answer. I would just be patient, but if it is looking bad as I’m not opening for extended periods of time then it should most likely be moved.
But if parameters are good then it should be quicker

Parameters are ok, all corals looking healthy, inclusive the duncan itself, just that color issue that keeps me getting worried, gonna wait a while.
It is not over stretching (trying to get more light). I worry when they look super puffy.
It does not look too tucked in , I worry when they only stick out tentacles (hiding from light).
You may just have a different color duncan than what you expected. A lot of retailers like to brighten up their pictures. Unless you got this from another hobbyist.
It is still very beautiful. You may see more colors form as you keep it.

Its mine, It surprised me, because it was the first time seeing an white duncan, not even on google I found one. I wanted to know if it exists, if its a morphed version or just an unsettled or unhealthy one! Haha but ok, Im going to keep an eye on it, but it looks totally healthy, thanks for the help.
