I just got this mushroom toadstool a week ago and now it looks like this. I’m new to this 2 months old. They told me at the fish store this was a good beginner coral. My water parameters today were ph8.3 ammonia 0 nitrates around 5ppm. Friendly help and advice appreciated

What lights are you running?

I see green on some rock work, maybe phosphate too high? Should be 0.03-.1ppm at least in the first year.

Nitrate seems fine at 5ppm.

Even softy corals sometimes don’t like newer tanks

Give it some time alone.

Loves medium light and flow.

They’re definitely on the way out but 100% able to be saved.

what’s your lights?

how big your tank?

what’s your water change schedule?
It’s 75gallon tank. I’m trying to do a change every two weeks. My light is LED lights I’m not sure the exact specs but it’s a monster light.

This is live rock I bought at LFS and it’s always looked that way so not sure

I think that lighting is fine.
Have you been testing all 8 major parameters at least weekly?
Each parameter has to be kept within normal saltwater hobby ranges at all times and is sometimes hard in newer systems.
It will get easier as your system matures.

I don’t even have a phosphate test kit. I will have to get one
