Is this enough light for my goniopora?

long polype goniopora frag in my nano tank. I have had him for a week, and today I just moved him in a cave in my tank. It's about 1/3 as bright in there, so I was wondering if you think that would be enough light for him. I feed him and the whole tank reef snow everyday, and goniopora rely on food(more than most corals) a lot instead of eating the alge that grows inside of them.

Your tank looks awfully young, I would keep an eye on water parameters and make sure things are stable for the goni. What are you using for lighting?

Agree that we’d need to know the type of light you’re using. It doesn’t look very blue which makes me think it’s one of the cheaper lights and isn’t very strong.

Yeah it is a cheaper light, and a youg tank(about 4 months). It is the stock lighting for the fluval evo 13.5(which is the tank I have). Everything is stable (no deaths so far and a good bit of frags) and the goni was doing really good. He hasn't come out very much since I moved him so im guessing I should just put him back were he was. I used dry rock so my tank is still working on its coralline growth. I have diatoms due to my bad light scedule(getting a timer soon).

Anybody want an arrow crab...lol... Every single time I try to move something he comes over and attacks me. I have to pick him up by a leg and throw him back to the other side of the tank again. Then a second later he is back stabbing my hand again. I had no clue what was going through my mind when I bought him;Meh Plus, he pretty much already outgrew my tank.

Stop moving it around so much haha, they like to stay put, pick a spot and give it a few days to see if it is a good spot. If it is opening fully then it is a good spot for it. I would still look to upgrading the light eventually though, I don't believe the fluval light will be adequate long term. Make sure you are feeding it a filter feeder diet of some sort at least every other day or so, something like reef roids will work well (make sure to soak them for about 30 minutes before feeding). I would also get rid of that arrow crab, it has the potential to become a real pest and can stab corals like it is stabbing your hand. If it stabs at the goni it may as well be game over for it.

The goni is fully open now. All of my LPS have been growing a lot lately and are doing fine under the light, so I don't see the need to upgrade for a while. I will get an upgrade as soon as it's relevant(because it's so white and I don't have any money...lol) The one lfs near me even has the evo's stock lighting on some acroporas, but I probably wouldn't do that. As I said in the post I feed reef snow everyday, but do you think that's enough for the goni? Should I try to target feed him a bit more?

Ok... I may of just moved him a tiny bit
He is in what I like to call the (dirty corner of my tank now. Most of the food gets blown over there and it is the area with the least bit of flow. I saw him grabbing the reef snow a lot when I fed him today. He seems like he likes this place the most...and I like him there.
