I just picked up a bta its a lime greenish one. I changed my rock work so it's two islands. Is this enough space for to help prevent it from going to coral island. I know they can detach and go anywhere just trying to prevent what I can. Sorry lights are off during picture I'll also post a pick about 30 min after I put it in tank. My plan is to move some coral back to side with bta once it has been in one place for atleast a month. Are there any corals that can coexist. If not I don't mind having NEM side and coral side my tank is 48x30 so I have some room. Thanks.

Well, you have a 4 foot tank so that's plenty of room. The bottom line though, if the NEM wants to move, its going to. I have a 4 foot tank with a variety of corals: soft, lps, sps, etc with a RBTA and everything's going well, but in reality the NEM could up and move at any moment, its the nature of the beast. You can try to aim your power heads in a specific way to keep it from going to that side of the tank, but each NEM is unique. I've seen some avoid high flow like the plague and others that could care less.

Thanks. I am aware of the risk. Just trying to tilt things in my favor.

Understood. I've had mine go a-wall a few times and scurry around the tank. Mine mowed right over a whole rock of zoas, fortunately they all survived. I'm no NEM expert, but I've gotta wonder if it's more about contact with the tentacles than the foot. Best thing you can do is keep a close watch, keep it happy, and pray lol. If it moves, try to figure out why and accommodate it as best you can.

I have heard if you feed it once it attaches to a rock their is a higher chance that it will stay there. Just don't overfeed maybe feed it the first day attached and then about 1 or 2 times a week to encourage it to stay put also remember don't feed and water change on the same day it may cause it to split which would double your chances of a roamer . Good luck

This might help; every situation is slightly different, but i'm skeptical. I've consistently spot fed and had a roamer. I've not fed at all and had a roamer so who knows?

True they seem to have a mind of their own I have a few BTA's and 3 of them found spots they liked and have never really moved more than an adjustment of an inch or 2 left or right . on the other hand had a RBTA in the same tank that cant be still almost every week he moves again ... so who really knows .
