I have a Fluval Sea Nano over a WB 10 Gal. Been slowly increasing light, but I'm not sure where to stop. I know it's a cheaper light so the par/moles can't be that crazy, but some corals seem happy and others not. I did have a mag scare about two months ago when I was taking advice from just about anyone and a local LFS told me to throw in two caps of mag a day. I was naive and just did what he said. Not good... I feel like some are still recovering from it. So, if anyone has/had this light I could sure use some tips.

Thanks - Daniel

Agree that those lights aren't very powerful. As long as your parameters are correct increasing them slowly shouldn't be an issue. Given that you were dosing without testing is more of a concern.

They are inadequate for coral growth unfortunately. Best for your tank would be a noopsyche Mini or Ai Prime hd. I just saw some primes on R2R marketplace yesterday fairly cheap.

I always test, I'm colour blind so when there's no one home to read it for me I take a sample to one of my LFS. I test at least five times a week. Trust me, I'm so OCD about this tank. This is when I was first starting so I just took his advice. It's been six weeks or so, but some thing's still don't want to open. The one leather up top is coming back but his big brother not so much.

Well I apologize for the statement then. As mentioned by @vetteguy53081 long term youre going to need an upgrade.

No apology. We all have a perception of what lighting is adequate.

I grow SPS under these lights, don't have my phone on me, so not sure exact setting, think I am running blue and purple 100% white at 50-75%. 30 minute ramp up and down run for 12 hours a day.

Remind me later and I can post exacts

All good, my guy. :) I just can't understand why things are living, but not thriving. I do a 10-15% water change ever five days and clean all the equipment every time. I've been super religious with everything.

I have a Fluval Nano over a WB 10!

Blast that ****** on maximum everything but whites. Start your whites at 25% and raise in 25% increments until you’re at 100% for 8 hours a day.

The PAR output in Fluval lights is all in the white. I don’t even know why they lets you mix the channels, the non whites output is like 30 PAR max.

This is the info I needed. I had no idea the par was that incredibly low. Thank you so much. I've been starving the poor little guys.

Thank you!

Mind you this is with 2 of them mounted just above the surface. On my 24 gallon:

They aren't perfect, and I am sure they can't grow everything, but I really like them given the price.

Think you're on the fringe.

Could try a cheap frag of SPS and see what happens.

AI Prime or Kessil would do extremely well if you want to take it up a level.
My cheap Acro I bought has slowly been losing colour. I didn't realize my light gives off so little par.

I've really enjoyed mine, I love the interface. Just can't believe I was starving them so bad...
