Just wondering if this is chloroquine phosphate or if it can be used to treat in quarantine. I just transferred my clown fish to my 120. I wanna get a yellow tang some time this week and put it through quarantine. the lfs guy I talked to says he keeps all the tangs in copper the last time I was in there over a month ago. I never asked what kind of copper. I still am going to run my own treatments and qt.

All I have access to is cupramine, and I’ve read too many tang deaths and cupramine in the same thread.
I’m wondering if this would be good, otherwise I’m planning on using cupramine and bringing the dose up over 7-10 days.

Thanks.

I haven't used it personally, but it does look to be a chloroquine compound in the active ingredients. I'd be a little more concerned about correct dosage.. reading the reviews- it looks like several people have experienced multiple losses with regular dosing. Now, I don't know how sick the fish were prior to dosing, but I would definitely be careful not to over-dose if you do give it a try.

Personally, I'd probably stick with copper or get a prescription for CP from your vet. Alternatively, National Fish Pharmaceuticals now offers CP as well... I'm not sure if anyone has tested it for purity, but I've used them for other medications in the past with good results.
