Is this fin rot or damage

Hello everyone so I just got this melanurus wrasse and I didn't qt him cause he was pre qt so I added to my tank he hid as usual then came out I had to scrape the glass so he hid for 2 days today he comes out and I see this I'm worried if it's fin rot or not

Welcome to Reef2Reef - though this probably wasn't the first post you wanted to make.

This, to me, looks as though it might have started as an injury, but may have a bacterial issue now. @Jay Hemdal is the top disease expert 'round here these days - hopefully he'll be along to help. He's got a "sticky" thread in the Fish Disease forum that will help you provide the information that'll help him help your wrasse.

Thank you Bruce for the reply unfortunately from when I noticed it to the next morning in the qt tank he did not survive even his first treatment.
