I got this with some other frags on ebay. The others are looking fine but I was expecting this to have some polyps - is it dead or am I impatient? its supposed to either a finger leather or a toadstall mushroom. I got one of each and they`re so small I`m not sure how to tell them apart! It came via the postman and had come off its frag plug during transit so I have glued it directly to the rock.

Any clues gratefully received.

Hard to tell from the picture but it could just be taking it's time opening up. My neon green polyp toadstool took a few days to open up when I first got it.

The toadstool might just be stressed from shipping. It doesn't look like it is 'melting'. It can take up to a week for them to open up.

Just an update on this for anyone else with a similar questions - here is the frag after a couple of days - still dont know if this is normal  but he looks happy enough to me...

Looks pretty normal. Your mushroom will shed from time to time so be on the lookout. Give it a week or so. Corals need to acclimate to their new lighting conditions and water parameters.
