I got this montipora 2 weeks ago. It was doing great and then I moved it to a higher spot 300 par and i noticed it got a few white spots. I moved it back down to even lower than it was before and the spot hasn’t spread. It’s been 3 days. The only other thing I did was remove all carbon and gfo because my nutrients were so low and I was having zero phosphates. My phosphate is now 0.26 and nitrates 3 ppm. Is this from too much light or something else and will it be able to repair itself or should I cut it back the healthy tissue and start smaller ? Thanks

Does it look like the tissue is falling off?
No it just looks like where it once was read has lost color and it’s white. It hasn’t spread since I Noticed and moved it. It was in the higher par for 2 days

Most corals will do better if they end up in lower light than suddenly in higher light. I also think you had some other changes that added to its stress. I'd keep it lower while it recovers and try to keep everything as stable as possible.

Thank you do you think 150-200 par is okay or even lower? I went from 250 par it was happy to 300 par and that’s when I noticed the white. I also dropped it in tank and handled it a decent amount. Took plug off and cleaned it, redipped in rx and reglued.

Oh. Well, then that's likely how it has tissue damage. If everything is solid now it should recover.
