Is this fungal?

I had not noticed this until recently, i had 2 eels in quarantine suspecting flukes in one of them since he had gone into a hungerstrike for about 3 weeks, after moving them to the main display i noticed this wound, i don't know where he got it from since the other eel was fine without any, i wasn't worried since he ate about a pound of squid Lol but just to be safe, I want to ask what this is and if I should just leave it alone for it to heal

External fungal diseases are VERY rare in marine fishes, I’ve only seen a couple of cases. This looks more like a bacterial infection, possibly stemming from an injury. The muscle is showing in the one spot, so that is pretty deep.
A broad spectrum, gram negative antibiotic like neomycin or kanamycin would be something to try.

The recent batch of seachem which was imported was contaminated by moisture hence I don't know when the next batch will arrive, it is the only supplier here, i got to know this when I recieved my first neoplex

Can this heal by itself? I know that eels are extremely hardy and have healed from even more severe cases, is there still a high percentage of risk?

The only medications I have on hand currently are acriflavine mixed with malachite green

Sorry - I can't guess if this will heal on its own or not. Acriflavine might help, but the malachite green admixture adds a degree of uncertainty for me - I've never used that combination on eels.
