So I have to admit, my last tank didnt ever have an issue with gha. Just the normal diatoms and some cyano. This tank was set up almost the exact same way. Same salt mix, same equipment, same rock, same livestock and cuc. Only real difference is I now use kessil led instead of t5ho. Also I used tap water for my first tank but use rodi now.
Parameters are all in line, ranges are over the past few months tank has been up since this past feburary.
SG 1.026
Kh 8-9 with hanna checker
Ca 420-460 with red sea
Mag 1560-1600 with red sea
Ammonia and nitrite undetectable
Nitrate 0-5 with API
Phos usually 0 but have seen it at .07 with hannah checker
The nutrients were so low for awhile that my sps paled out so I upped my feeding of lrs as well as dialed back the intensity on the light and they colored back up over the last month. Coraline has started to take off as well.
Algae seems to be stringy and like gha. Grows pretty quick and is easily brushed off with a toothbrush. Doesnt over take but is definitely more than I'd like.
Should I dial the red out of the LEDs? I run kessil 360x and the reds are at like 20%.
Thinking of adding a bristletooth tang or lawnmower blenny. Also maybe starting hydrogen peroxide dosing. Will try to get better photos wirh daytime lighting. Heavy blues in these pictures
