I’m hoping someone can tell me what is going on here.. I have gravel live sand on the bottom then put a little bit of regular live sand on top.. I recently noticed these worm things on the glass under the sand but they don’t ever seem to move at all.. and when I was using the turkey baster thing cleaning up I accidentally uncovered some of them all poking out of the sand. I’m thinking they’re everywhere like that.. I’ve had my tank running for a year now and I just noticed these. Please help

It's sort of hard to tell in the image, but are the tubes made of sand? There are a few types of tube worm that incorporate sand into their tube, so you may have some living in your sand and when you blow away the sand around it, just the tube remains sticking up.

I don't know how beneficial they are, but I at least haven't heard of such a worm being harmful. Maybe if you can catch the actual worm sticking out of one you can get a more positive ID on it.
