It is not the same thing. If you want to test for Phosphates, you need a different tester.

Okok I was reading I can’t just do the multiply x 3.066 and divide by 1000 ?
Yes, that is a good point. I was making a distinction between the two tests. Here is a table that might be helpful so you do not have to do the math.

How are corals doing? My understanding is that phosphate is the residual surplus, coral want phosphorus. with sufficient feeding, .015 surplus indicates adequate available nutrients. @jda and others are more qualified than me to explain this better than me

I just wish they were more accurate.

The pros will likely want to know all parameters, maintenance schedule and see white light pics to help diagnose the problem. Unless you only want to know about the tester that is...

Ya I posted a picture of the Dino’s got lots of help by a lot of people yesterday

The phosphorus checker is actually the one you want. It reads in parts per billion phosphorus. Multiply by 3 and move the decimal to get ppm phosphate.

The first couple responses are wrong

Shoot first was 5 then 2 and last one after 10 min was 3

Those are, for our purposes, the same.

5 ppb × 3.066 / 1000 = 0.015 ppm phosphate.

2 = 0.006
3= 0.009

Average is 0.01 ppm with a standard deviation of 0.003 ppm.

You have natural seawater levels of phosphate.

What you mean I have that how do I do it
If you go into the log measurement section and select P04 you can select what test kit you are using. Once you enter the phosphorous number in it will automatically convert it to phosphates.
