So my tank over the last couple days went from being a few diatoms to an a diatom explosion. And the water has now become foggy and greenish Brown. I understand diatoms are good but the water color?

If your tank is new (I assume it is), then I would think you’re coming on the end of your cycle. It should clear on its own eventually but may come back time to time as your tank matures. You can take a siphon and suck some of it out. As a matter of fact, a water change at this point might help substantially! Best of luck!

New Tank?
Time to turn on the skimmer. If you dont run one then you can use polishing floss in a canister or hob filter.

My tank looks like that every Sunday night after I feed phyto and oyster feast. A nice brownish green. yum yum

Sounds like you have a algae bloom as well. A UV unit will clear that up. Typical for a new tank.
Lol thanks for the reminder to turn that on lol. The filter I bought had one on it I just haven’t turned it on yet
