I got this gorgonian this morning via ups, it came damaged and it seems it looks even worse now. I didn’t notice until I cut the lights on in the tank. Seller only has a DOA policy, so I can’t do anything. Is there any way it can recover? I have 0 experience with these..

hi ,i would cut off the 4 bad tips, mod flow mod light... :)

Keep the faith! Twice I had similar damage to my Gorgonian (not that extensive) where the flesh separated from the support and with in a day or so the flesh had completely grown in. They’re very resilient that way.

Not a goner.... looks photosynthetic, a bit of flow, and good lighting, water quality , will rehabilitate.

Awesome thank you all! I was sure I would wake up to it dead. I have it up high with tons of flow, phyto daily, good params. Reef breeders led. The other gorgs look good so fingers crossed

Thanks! Just cut them off with a knife out of water? I heard they don’t do great with air exposure but I’m totally new to them!

And honestly it’s not so bad with proper water chemistry and flow and lighting I’m sure it can fully recover possibly without even cutting it

These bounce back pretty quickly. Even though they dont get affected by exposure to air, long periods out of water will have effect temporarily.
