Is this green algae? How to get rid of?

I've had this green algea for a few months now, and its gotten worse and worse. I just blow it off the rocks every few days or it is completely encrusted in this green stuff.. Dont know how to get ride of i t. I brought some more snails and crabs but they dont seem to care for it.

Need more info: do you have a sump w/ macro algea? What kind of lights, nitrate & phos levels? Changing socks? How often? Tangs? CUC makeup/mix? That tank looks pretty “tidy”, is it too clean?
Anyway, before reaching for Vibrant, try “killing it softly” : 100 micron sock change 3x/week , rinse (or not rinse) your frozen... feed less, I’ve even Removed rocks and carefully dripped 3% peroxide on infected rocks.... I’m guessing Just by the looks of your tank you will be successful...

Edited to add: sometimes, and I mean sometimes, urchins do a better job of stripping down rocks to the bare surfaces...on the downside theY wreck a aquascape, eat coraline algae and thier sandy poop isn’t pretty, but they definetley eat suff other CUC species pass up

Tank is running bio reactor, lights is 4 61" t5 and 3 Ecotech Radions XR15s. Its a 6x2x2 tank. Change filter sock every 2 weeks. Have a purple, a pbt and a hippo. Cuc has a few turbos, a few cochs, about 8 new small hermits, two bigger hermits, 10 new small snails, and a few bigger snails.

I just changed out all the sand this week which is why it looks clean. Before that, the sand was encrusted with algae.

Is it green algae?

Forgot to mention: My phosphate is undetectable and the Nitrates is less than 1ppm.. But that could be because the algea is eating it up.

I think im very low on CUC.. I'm going to buy a large pack.. I had a lot more before but my haddoni has been slowly killing them.. I assume CUC will eat this algae? The new additions havent seemed to be on the rocks at all.

One thing that may be related, 6 months ago I did increase the intensity of the xr15s and also did swap out new T5 bulbs. I wonder if that was the reason. I am going to lower the intensity to see if it helps.

Looks like it may be some turf algae. You could see if your lfs has a sea hare they could let you borrow. Those things will eat anything green.

Will it work on green blue cyano? I think its that after comparing pics with another tank having green blue cyano. I think the bio pellet reactor installed last year may have caused this.

Definitely think we dealing with green blue cyano.

Okay, I lowered my light intensity on the XR15s.. and also turned off the bio reactor.. I'm almost certain its the bio reactor..

My cuc is probably very low so I just got the following at reefcleaners:

1x All Algae Crew (120 Long)
4 x Blue Eyed Hermit
5 x Blue Leg Hermit Crab
5 x Mexican Turbo Snail
4 x Trochus Snails
3 x Assorted Smaller Conchs
7 x Trochus Snails (Very Small)

This is for a 180g tank.

Will try to use chemi-clean too!

Chemiclean worked! less then 24 hours, the green cyano is gone.. It was covered in all of my rocks but now its disappeared!
