John reaction to peroxideSome type of algae. Easiest to tell is take it out of the tank, take a syringe and squirt some hydrogen peroxide on the algae/plug. If it bubbles/sizzles then its likely hair algae and it just died.
You can get some on the zoa with no issue. Might take a little extra till it opens back up.
Just realized my typo here. I meant no reaction to peroxideJohn reaction to peroxide

From my understanding to test if it is hair algae you use peroxide. If it bubbles then it is likely algae. The peroxide had no reaction on what I thought was algae which means it is not. I made sure not to get any on the zoas and did rinsing in clean salt water to get all residue offDescribe how you treated with peroxide?
Peroxide is indiscriminate as a strong oxidizer. I haven’t found it to have no effect on algae. I use it as a coral dip: 10% solution for 10 minutes. For sensative coral, reduce duration.
