Is this how we are supposed to package corals?

Zoas tend to look all closed up and squished after being shipped. Only ONCE have I had open corals in the bag.

I don't think it's the norm, but with zoas they should be fine. I've had quite a but shipped and rarely are they open.

I would say no, that's not normal but there Zoe's so they should be fine.

I personally like to secure all of my stuff when shipping. Ask my customers how I package things...polyps are open in the bag almost every time

Everything I've ordered from Joe, a lot of zoas and a few other things, have been open in the bag. He also secures them in the little jello shot cups and one to a bag. I've also ordered from Cherry Corals, torch, zoas and acan that were open, and AquaSD, acans that were open. As far as I can remember all LPS, with decent sized tentacles, and zoas have been open upon receiving shipment.

I think that's acceptable but sloppy job for sure. Also, personally I would have problems with 2 frags being in one bag. Just more room for error and corals smashing against the plugs. Agree that with zoas it's probably fine.

I'll jump onboard. Joe (JKR) has the best packaging of any online retailer I've purchased from. Multiple bags, jello shot glasses, and everything is labeled. I've made several private party purchases on R2R and been very happy with almost everyone's packaging. Only once have I ever received a package where more than one coral was placed in the same container. I purchased a chalice frag and a freebie chalice was shipped in the same container. It looked like a urine sample container (hopefully unused). The combination of hard plastic container and two chalices on frag plugs banging around together was no bueno. My pink ******* showed up in three pieces. The seller was very good about offering to "make things right." I just superglued the three pieces back together and told him that it probably wouldn't be necessary...couldn't even tell it had broke a month later.

Joe, glad to see u r still using the cups! It was a method I origanally learned from Pazzaz. Such a marvelous way to ship and keep the coral happy @ same time!
CC did adopt the practice as well

Gordon Food Service or any restaurant supply like Restaurant Depot.
Standard 1oz perfect for small plug and there is a squat cup as well that is shorter and fatter for the larger plugs and a disc fits perfect!
