I have a yellow Tang and kole Tang in quarantine for 10 days. I have dosed praziquantel twice 5 days apart and ramped up cupramine to 500 ppm(Hanna LR checker).
All was good until day 8 when I noticed the yellow Tang may have done a couple of subtle flashes. After that all seemed normal. Both are eating well (pellets, Ocean Nutition Green Marine Algae and mysis). Yesterday I noticed 1 raised white spot on the yellow tang and maybe one additional spot today but hard to tell as it’s on the white bar on the side of the yellow Tang. Also both fish have been getting on well until today when the yellow Tang appears to be hassling the kole tang, tail slapping and bullying.

I cannot post the photo. It fails when I try and attach it. Any suggestions?

"1 raised white spot on the yellow tang and maybe one additional spot today", together with a 'maybe' on "a couple of subtle flashes" probably makes it too early to tell about Ich-- so keep monitoring-- but for what it's worth, I gladly got rid of my bully Yellow Tang (in a 6' long tank) in favor of my Yellow Eyed Kole Tang. Not wishing anything bad on you, but don't be surprised if you make the same decision. Best wishes!

Thanks,I hope it doesn’t go that way.

If they are fighting it could be aggression damage.

When the photo fails, is it because it's too large? If you are using an Android phone that saves photos as image files opposed to jpg you might have to resize the photo to get it to upload. A pic would be helpful.

I hope these help.

Thanks, what is the best action to take.

If it is aggression problems, you might want to pick up a couple small mirrors at the dollar store and place them in the corners of the tank. This will confuse them as to how many fish are in the tank. Until they are in a big enough tank to house them both, there will be arguments (the yellow will win). Also, there has to be a top dog -- in every tank. Frequently there will be bickering until the hierarchy is established. Keep an eye on the white spot and let everyone here know if anything has changed or if more spots keep coming.

Thanks. I was already considering the mirrors. I will observe and wait, hopefully the spot is not disease. Your help is appreciated, I’m new to this. I tested the copper again and it is at correct levels so will keep my fingers crossed.

Just an update. Tangs are eating well and back to being best of friends. They look happy and healthy apart from the one spot on the yellow Tang. They have been in cupramine for 14 days.
