Only my clowns are impacted. Two gobies, Cardinals, and blenny all seems to be fine.

Is this ich or Brooks? Shes now breathing heavy and I don't think she's going to make it

Looks more like brooklynella, mainly because it’s a clown. I would treat for brook asap. If it turns to be ich you at least have a bit of time.

Agree with the Brook diagnosis.

Fish would need moved to QT and start metronidazole (Metroplex) immediately at the highest recommend dosage. Continue for 10 days.

Thanks. So I'm going to catch all fish and treat in QT tank. I'm assuming I should leave them there for six weeks to allow my DT to go fallow for six weeks?

He’s still pretty heavily infected... it’s harder to see on predominantly white fish, but I can clearly see spots on the face and tail. Most definitely velvet and/or brook.

Remember that these parasites have a life cycle, ich and velvet in particular tend to come on in waves...with each next wave more numerous than the last.

Without treatment, I don’t expect you’ll come out of this without losses unfortunately...

If it were me, I’d do a ruby reef rally bath en route to QT. Once there, begin treatment using copper + metroplex to cover both velvet and brook.

Thank you! Why are the firefish and Cardinals not impacted at all?

Some “hardier” fish can be more resistant, especially with brook which nearly always targets clownfish first (why it’s often referred to as “clownfish disease”) but, that doesn’t mean they won’t get it or succumb eventually, or that they can’t pass it to other fish that you try to add down the line...

I agree with velvet/brook diagnosis. Likely both. You’ll want to treat all fish ASAP, as said the next wave of parasites will be far more numerous.

I had velvet wipe out nearly my entire tank. The only survivors were a six line Wrasse, Firefish Goby, Watchman Goby, and another that I can’t recall. All total, I lost about 8 fish. The survivors are still with me today. I think the remainders built up some sort of resistance. It’s possible to survive velvet but not likely. I think I was lucky. Btw, most of my fish were gone before I even managed to get a QT up and running. The rest were never QTd. I still have the disease in my tank most likely but everything in my tank has been there for at least six months so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

Good luck!

How did this turn out? What happened to any fish added in the future?
