Since the Saturday I've been trying to help my two hippos beat ich and they were staying steady and seemed unfazed. Come home today and they're looking way worse. They're still eating and swimming but they have definitely lost some energy. Is this just bad looking ich or something else possibly?

I had a little bit of ruby reef rally pro so I've been dosing it in the tank since Sunday. Currently picking out the inverts then attempting hyposalinity is my plan.

My last blue hippo was notorious for getting lympho… happened about once a month. It appears that the white dots are ‘stuck’ On the skin as opposed to protruding from it.. it looks like ich to me.

I did a hypo before for asterina treatment with a side bonus of possible ich irradication. You need to do it for.. i believe 76 days but don’t quote me on that. Also most of the algae and bacteria in your tank will die and ammonia will spike, so you’ll need to do MANY water changes throughout. Fortunately it looks like you have a newer tank so there may not be as much die off

This is far from Lympho and appears to be (pics a little blurry) Crytocaryon which is marine ich. Would like clearer/closer pics under white light intensity but will require isolation is a treatment tank. If confirmed - you will want to treat with coppersafe

+1, Lymphocystis would be more on the fish's fins and would not be causing secondary symptoms following an ich infection.

Can you post clearer pictures and a short video?
How far are you from getting hypo started?

I have salinity down to 25ppt currently with rodi unit being the limiting factor. Should I switch to declorinated tap water? I won't be adding corals for months.

I got the worse of the two hippos into a 5 gallon to drop into hypo but he passed shortly after. Pic was after death by minutes. I can try for more photos if the video isn't helping.

The one in the video looks like it is still eating, that’s a good sign.

You can use dechlorinated tap water to get the tank into full hypo sooner.
