Hey guys! I have a 100gallon tank with inhabitants: sailfin tang, some clowns, chromis, bullet goby, crab, boxer shrimp and newly added 1 week ago: a foxface rabbitfish.

The rabbitfish did 2 weeks of copper, then observation for 3 weeks, no issues during observation. I’ve noticed today the foxface has a white mark on one side. Is this ich??? No scratching or flashing behavior. No other spots on it and no spots on the other fish either who themselves have all been through quarantine but they had 4 weeks quarantine. I’ve attached pictures of his good side without a mark and the bad side with a mark.

the image is a little grainy. I recommend giving a 5 minute freshwater dip and see if it drops off, if you haven't done a freshwater dip before be sure to look up a guide before doing it. Do it in a darker colored bucket too, it'll help you see if something drops off. If it does drop off it is flukes in which case treat with prazipro, if it doesnt then it is ich and you should either treat with copper in a separate tank if you have inverts or use reef safe medication, or you could use copper if it is a fish only system. You should treat with copper for 3 weeks as 2 weeks is kind of the minimum but since you treated with copper that makes ich less likely and makes flukes the primary suspect.

Thank you very much for your help! It’s very appreciated. I forgot I have 2 sponges in my sump so I can move them to the QT which is already cycled. My plan is move 3 fish first, then the remaining 3, three weeks afterwards

You're welcome! It may not be necessary to quarantine if you decide to treat with prazi as it is reef safe, just be sure to use an airstone with it to be safe. The freshwater dip should determine if its flukes or ich

I’m not sure who said it, but the person who mentioned the sand I think you’re right.

I saw new spots today. And they were staying in place for 10mins so I’m like yup ich.

Then after 20mins they fell off. The foxface went back into its cave and it got new “spots”.

And meanwhile that random white spot which got me worried from the very beginning is still in the same place.

I think it’s scratvhed itself and I’ve been seeing sand on it thinking it’s ich

Also none of the other fish have any spots at all which makes it me further think it’s not ich
