I got home today after adding new lights to my tank and noticed my purple tang and my PBT have a bunch of spots. My copper band might have a few spots but I can’t tell. I have a dozen other fish that are completely fine and have no signs of anything on their body. Here’s some pics

They're still a bit blurry but that does look like ich, the only way to eradicate it would be to treat all of your fish in hospital tanks, copper or cp are the most common treatments, and leave your dt fallow for 76 days. Most fish can survive with ich in the system but tangs are more susceptible to it

Do I need to take out my snowflake eel?
To eradicate ich he would need to come out also, corals and inverts are ok to stay in during a fallow period. Can you provide a list of all your fish? Some species are intolerant of certain treatments, eels cannot tolerate copper

Also, I don't want to push you into something if your not comfortable with it, read this to help you make a decision on what's best for your tank

What do you use if something is intolerant of copper?

I have a purple tang, powder blue tang, sail fin tang, 3 chromis, 2 clowns, diamond goby, snowflake eel, 6 line wrasse, scooter blenny, lawnmower blenny, copper band butterfly and an assorted tang. What should I do? When I had my purple tang in copper when he was in QT he didn’t do well. He wouldn’t eat and just sat on the bottom on the tank. Had to take him out and put him into my DT and he recovered (this was 6+ months ago)

I think I’m gonna ride it out. All the fish are healthy or appear to be. They are all eating and phat.

Is it possible that the fish could’ve gotten stressed from new lights. I went from black box to kessil/t5 hybrid

That's a possibility, it doesn't take much to provoke an ich outbreak in a powder blue especially. Many people manage ich and are very successful and some aren't. If you decide that you do want to have an ich free system we can help you through it.

Well it looks like the white spots are gone on the pbt. There’s less on the purple tang. I’ve been feeding them icy guard pellets so hopefully that will help. I just don’t know how well the fish will handle the copper and be in a 55Gal QT tank. I have an assorted tang in my frag tank and when I tried to move it over to my DT he got attacked and lost most of his fins. He recovered now but I’m scared if I put it in the same tank they will kill each other. Also not sure how a diamond goby will do with a bare bottom tank. And my eel not sure what I would do with the eel. I think with the fish I have now it’s best to ride it out and hope for the best
