Today while feeding I noticed my mimic tang “itching” on the sand, kinda like brush across the sand really quick movements and has been doing it for most of today
While inspecting the tang to check for any problems I noticed my coral beauty with tiny white dots
Attached photos of the coral beauty and the tang, also my one clownfish seems to have some white near the top

Too many spots to count usually is velvet.
If you can count the spots usually Ich.

The Coral Beauty looks covered = velvet

Time is not your friend here. Velvet can be a quick killer. Doing freshwater dips can temporarily buy you time to get ready to treat.

Oh no :( my tank for qt isn’t big enough for all my fish, will they all need to go in or just the infected ones? From the article I do believe all fish need to be removed but just want to make sure
I will do freshwater dips first thing tomorrow unless it is already too late, today is the first day I noticed how long can they survive with velvet?

Would it be possible to get a big storage box fill with saltwater, heater, hang on filter and treat them all in there?
I have a 13.5g but definitely won’t be big enough for all the fish

That coral beauty and an anthia, I’ve never had any problems with the place I got them from before tho

Mimic tang didn’t make it through the night :(
Coral beauty didn’t come out for food but everyone else seems okay

If I were you I’d try to get them out ASAP. See if there is a fellow reefer from a local reef club willing to help you immediately with a large tub and supplies. Best of luck.

Got no local reef clubs over where I’m from unfortunately, I can put the coral beauty in a tank I’ve got set up as he’s the worst right now but can’t treat them all together in a 13.5g :( really don’t know what I can do

Get the coral beauty out for sure. I’m not sure where you are located but yes whatever tub you have see if you can get any/all of them in there. Do you have copper? Need to get that going right away but search here first for proper dosing as I’m thinking the bottle directions aren’t correct? You’re tank will have to be fallow for several months I believe because the disease stays in there and will reinfect new fish if it is t eradicated. Just use bottled bacteria and prime to keep the hospital tanks from ammonia spikes and make sure to check ammonia levels often. The setup you described for it in your earlier post would be fine as long as you keep ammonia and nitrites in check. Good luck to you. No matter where you get your fish I can only suggest to always always quarantine

Thanks for clarifying about the setup, going to get some equipment now, I’ve got some rock from a nano I can put in the tub to help bacteria
Will leave the tank empty for a few months
Lfs will sell copper? Or do I need to go to a pharmacist

Emergency Treatment for Velvet:

Freshwater dips will remove a tremendous number of parasites from the fish's gills allowing them to breathe easier. Can do once a day. And will buy you time to get treatment plan together. Immediately after the dip transfer to a bath containing Ruby Reef Rally.

Bath with RRR greatly increases the survival rates of parasite infected fish. RRR has both antiseptic and antibiotic qualities that help with the tremendous number of insertion point injuries from the parasites and helps fight bacterial infection.

Then into copper. Chelated copper like Copper Power or Coppersafe have the widest therapeutic range. Pre dose the QT for chelated copper up to 1.0 ppm and then place fish into the QT. Need to ramp up to therapeutic range which starts at 1.5 ppm up to the target of 2.0 within 24-48 hours and this is important using small regular doses spread out throughout the day and monitor with test kit or preferred using a Hanna HL Copper Checker. Treat for a minimum of 14-15 days at therapeutic and then can transfer to a fresh clean QT and observe for 14-15 days OR leave the fish in the original QT for a total of 30 days at therapeutic level.

While the fish are in copper, their immune systems will be challenged by the copper and parasites. To help the fish it's best to treat them with an antibiotic to prevent deadly bacterial infections which can kill quickly. Kanaplex is very mild and effective. Can also dose Furan2 if needed.

Seems like so much to do in such a short time
I went to the lfs and bought some copper treatment can’t remember name but they recommended it
Coral beauty didnt last long
While getting my fish out one of my clowns completely disappeared I’m not sure if he has died as of yet but I would probably think so

everyone else seems okay so far- 3 chromis, tomini tang, 2 cardinals and a clown
Thanks for all the help hopefully these can pull through

Will my corals be okay without fish in the tank for a few months? I don’t dose anything
Do I still feed food to the tank to keep the bacteria going?
