No, but does look like bacterial tufts. Also for an anthias, she looks thin.
Noticed these tiny white spots on the fins of this dispar anthias. The tank is well-established. Phish has been in there for over a month. Was previously treated in copper. Water parameters are good. Not sure how this could’ve happened. What could it be? Please help. Cant stomach an outbre
Thank you. The white spots are now gone, which is odd. I forgot to mention i have a FOWLR. I feed them and the rest of my tank frozen mysis and brine, tdo, mysis pellets, and seachem probiotic flakes. I also soak in selcon. the anthias are rather picky and seem to mostly eat the frozen foods. Feed 1-2x’s a dayNo, but does look like bacterial tufts. Also for an anthias, she looks thin.
What is your current ammonia-nitrate-ph-salinity and what test kits are you using ?
What foods are you feeding and how often qre you feeding ?
The questions came from suspicions.Thank you. The white spots are now gone, which is odd. I forgot to mention i have a FOWLR. I use an API kit.
salinity: 1.023
Ph: 8.0
Ammonia: 0.0
Nitrate: 20
Thank you for the help. The questions came from suspicions.
The test kit used very known for false readings and I would encourage taking a water sample to an LFS that does NOT use Api kits and see what readings they come up with and to compare with yours.
The foods- You are lacliknf the diet anthias needs as these are not flake and pellet only eaters and it is likely missing vitamins, fats and aminos found in other foods and they need to eat 3-4X per day.
Some foods to add are :
Hikari Marine cuisine
LRS fish Frenzy
small plankton
Spirulina brine shrimp
Formula one frozen
Add selcon vitamins to foods occasionally. You said dots are gone- I wonder if fish picked up sand that stuck to its slime coat.
