I have recently joined the hobby roughly 3 months ago and my copper that is 2 weeks new to me is showing some white spots on the fins. I’ve never seen ich before and looking at many different threads I’m still unsure to what this is exactly. Any help is much appreciated.

Welcome to R2R!

Possibly a small case of ich. The other 2 possibilities are Lymphocystis or just some damage of some sort.

If you make note of where the spots are (you already did with your pictures), then compare a few days later, you will know. Ich will be gone or in different spots in a couple days. Lympho will still be there.

For now, I'd just observe for a couple days.

Thanks so much. The smallest things can make you stress over marine fish lol. Thanks again I’ll keep a close eye on him. I think it’s due to his hunger strike he was eating the first week and has slowed down and have been rejecting my efforts of brine shrimp.

Looks like lymphocystis which thids type of fish is susceptible to. Lympho is a condition and not disease. Often its associated with water quality issue as simple as elevated ammonia or nitrate and can be that of water from LFS and not yours. Assure to provide Good water quality monitored by a reliable test kit and feed nutritious food with fats such as LRS nano frenzy and mysis shrimp.

Thank you. My water parameters do seem to in the area of where i want it but I did just add some new live rock so may have went through a mini cycle I wasn’t aware of
