Is this just the normal dry rock ugly stage algae? Tested nitrates they are around 15 phosphate came in at .01 on Hanna checker. I soaked and cycled the dry rock in another tank with no lights on. After the cycle I transferred them into my display. I assumed there would be an ugly stage until coralline can get going. Currently only have a few hermits and a few nassarius snails. Should I beef up the crew?

I wouldn’t put my stock in hermit crabs and nassarius snails are sand dwelling carnivores.

Get urchins or mexican turbo snails for hair algae. Yes, the solution here is more clean up crew.

Much as I hate turbos, they should consume that.
