Starting to fill my 315, one corner is like this. Within range, and I have a 1” foam pad beneath the tank. This ok, or should I shimmy shim shim to get it perfect?
Cheers!

Personally, I'd shim. While it's probably close enough for a final result, a more level tank will look nicer at the waterline and show any potential unevenness or warping in the future more clearly.

Gotcha, I will shim away. Thanks all. I used the level along the trim at the top of the tank, I have to "assume" that that is perfectly level. Have no reason not to think that, that being said.

Well so far I am at about 30. I had to double up on the shims since the main little ones didn't move the needle enough, and broke some along the way. The tank is on carpet, making it easier to get the shims in, but a bit more difficult to get the height just right. About 12 more should do it. When I go back to Home Depot will see if they have any larger shims. Or will just keep doubling up the small ones. Almost there....

Here is the tank. Doors still need to be done, a million things to do.

Sitting on carpet. .
The only thing I worry about is once the weight of water is in it .
it will most likely squish the carpet unevenly causing it to no longer be level

Possible yep. Although, I overbuilt the stand, it probably weighs 350-400lbs itself. So hopefully enough to dampen it down. I will fill slowly over a week and see how she goes.

Well here is an interesting challenge. I have been taking the level at the top of the trim on the tank. But because I was having perplexing issues where stuff wasn't lining up, I decided to take the level on the bottom trim of the tank, and the trim on my stand. Well guess what, every time the bottom trim on the tank and stand match up, and if anything is off, the top trim level measurement does not match. So now what, goes with the two bottom measurements that match up? The As I measure the trim around the stand, it is level across the board.

In the pics below, the stand and bottom trim match, but the top trim measurement does not. Confused….

If you’re level has ever been dropped or banged in it’s life , it’s known to be not as accurate .

The easiest way !

Add a inch or a few inches of water to the tank .
using a measuring tape , measure from
The bottom of the glass inside to the surface of the water . check the left front and right .
Check front to back ( you can check both sides but not necessary )
Choosing to measure the trim is the least accurate way , it’s attached with silicone and not always Tight with the glass .
The tank is the most important . Not only cosmetics but also to distribute the force equally .

Perfect, will do this. Thanks!!

How about laying the level on the bottom glass inside instead of using the trim? Carpet under a tank had been a nono for me. I had one that was a taller tank and didn't feel safe, it's was kind of wobbly so I ended up cutting the carpet out kind of like a foyer at a house entrance. Also everytime I do anything at all in the tank some water ends up on the floor which doesn't go well with carpet.

I got it as close as I think I can. It is within .25mm front to back, side to side. I will measure a few more times, and see if there is any juice left to squeeze, but figure with overall water movement in the tank and on the surfaceI am not sure .25mm makes any real difference. Thanks all for the help!!!
