Any guesses on the species of this one?

I am going with no. Micro does not usually fuse like that.

It looks more like Efflo or Soli to me without the uniform growth pattern of the upward branches. ..but efflo and soli does not seem 100% right either.

Thank you for replying! I can never find anything out there like this one. Im sure one day someone will know what it is tho.

My best guess is soli. If you told me that it was under Metal Halide, then I might not think so... but I have seen the upward branches of soli dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge under LEDs rather than have that uniform growth like you see in some of the large-colony photos out there.

As you can see in this closeup by Adam, the structure of Microladus is not the same. Yours has longer, smooth stalks kinda like A. Soli. Some Solis plate and some branch more, depending on flow and lighting... yours looks like a hybrid.

Yeah I agree it does not look like the Upscales growth structure at all. I can see it being a Soli. It has barely encrusted at all and has just formed a super thick 'Trunk" that just engulfed the frag plug. Here it is from the side back in March.

Thanks again for your replies jda.

Polyps look off for an Efflo or Soli. My guess would be Desalwii or Paniculata. Wouldn't count out Microclados, but growth looks a little off. Nice coral whatever it is.

Thank you for the suggestions! The paniculata looks pretty close for sure.

Paniculata looks closer than anything else. Solid and efflorescence I would say no for sure. What kind of flow and lights are you running?
Here is a pic without the blues. I run SB Reef lights and about a month ago added a single t5 for the back of the tank where I had a lack of coverage due to an error when building my canopy. For flow there is return plus 2 pp-15 on else mode.
