I don’t wanna lose either but it looks like the mushroom literally only likes that spot out of the whole tank that’s where he wants to stay and the torch can’t be moved bc he’s in a nice flow spot while my other side of the tank is a low flow area heWont be whipped around as much ….
 
More likely the torch will kill the mushroom than the mushroom killing the torch. Mushrooms don't sting very hard I don't think. In my experience they mostly just smother other things like zoanthids that are shorter than them. On the other hand I've seen them rub up on sps and not seen the sps do so much as retract polyps.
 
My disco shrooms kill any acro they touch. I have a frogspawn in my frag tank that kills acros.
You could glue a small rock between the two.

My torches have hit many Rhodis. Rhodis
never been able to get close enough to touch the torches.

Torch vs Yuma = eviscerated mushroom. Source, I watched it happen last week in my frag tank on a conference call.
