Is this necessary?

I use blackout curtains with hooks on the top to hold on. I get ambient light in the living room especially in the winter but never direct light on the tank. My lights go off at midnight and come on at 11:30am. Is it necessary to cover the tank every night? I used to do this back in the day just wondering if it’s pointless.

So you get sunlight in the room before the light come on, which is why you cover the tank correct ?
I wouldn’t worry about covering the tank if there’s is no direct sunlight
