Hi. So I just bought a Katherine's Fairy Wrasse from my LFS, after 2 days, I noticed that this is how it swims. It stays in vertical position "hovering" for a while then would go on to swim normally like every other fish does. Not sure if it's normal for a fairy wrasse as this is just my first time owning one. Inputs are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello,
Video won’t play for me but that vertical hovering position is not normal for a fairy wrasse from my experience. Would really seem like a swim bladder issue or spinal injury when they start to swim offset like what your describing. I believe that the Katherine’s is a delicate shipper as well.
How was he behaving at the LFS that you bought him from? Was he eating? How long was he there for? I would really keep a close eye on him and see how he does. Who are his tank mates?

can you upload to YouTube or another video source?

QT tankmates include a kole tang, flame angelfish, a valentini puffer, a small yellow wrasse and a small surge basslet.

They do hover but his mouth looks funny

That's natural fairy wrasse. Dainty and fluttery

I see nothing abnormal with the swimming or hover, but the upper jaw does have some damage.
