Is this normal for a hammer coral?

Is this normal for a hammer coral? I know they close up at night but the "skeleton' seems to be receding more than it used to? Also one branch becoming pale, like loosing it's color?

all other corals are fine and colorful.

FWIW, not sure if it's just me, but I don't see the image you uploaded. It shows as a red X for me.

Same for me, without seeing the picture it's hard to say, but my hammers stay open all day then after the lights go out they close up for a couple of hours and then open back up roughly 60 percent or so. Then when the lights come on they come out 100 percent again. Again, without seeing the picture it's hard to say, but did u change the lights or the light settings. My hammers also seem to not like sharp changes in Alk, what r your parameters and were do you want your parameters, have they changed?

I also can not see the picture. I have had 2 experiences with hammers. First one did exactly what you are describing and eventually died. The second one is doing great, but not before a rough start. It was a large 3 headed(now 4) Hammer and the bottom most head was struggling. I never saw anything bothering it but it just kept deteriorating. I checked on it often each day. Eventually while on a vacation I was checking the cameras on the tank and noticed one of my peppermint shrimp picking at it. Over the next few days I checked on the cameras whenever I had the chance and kept catching him doing it... as long as no one was around the tank. I removed the one shrimp that was doing the damage and could not catch the other. Yet. This other one did not seem to be interested so we hand fed him pieces of shrimp each day to keep him full. I still want him out but since innocent until proven guilty I will wait until I see signs he is damaging anything.
No idea if this is your issue but wanted to give you something to consider.
