Hey everyone - I’ve got two tangs I’m about to move from QT to DT and noticed as I was acclimating in the bucket before putting the yellow tang into the DT that he has some brown blotches between his eyes. I’ve actually noticed this for the last few days in the QT as well but am just getting a good look today Behavior is pretty normal. I’m fairly new so I’m not sure if this is normal coloring for a stressed juvenile tang or if it’s something more ominous? I am trying to figure out whether to add him to the DT or reQT for some period of time... thanks in advance for any advice!
Is this normal for a juvenile yellow tang?

Not long enough, only about a week, but I had an issue with the Quarentine tank today that necessitated an early move. I used Cupramine but only dosed it a few hours before I was forced to move them. I just took a chance, did a freshwater dip and just placed it in the tank...only alternative was to try to build a new quarentine system tonight and leaving the fish in that bucket for a few hours along with placing them in a new QT system seemed like it might do more harm that good. The spot on his forehead SEEMS like it may be symmetric so I took a calculated risk. Could still pull him back out if that seems like the better idea though...

The pigment you are seeing is from it’s actual eyes and skull. Because he is a juvenile he isn’t fully colored up yet.
For better tang coloration I would push the nori if he’s eating. Here is a better example of what you are seeing.
