Is this normal growth

Hey Guys

This is one of my first corals pieces I have had and its been growing over the months but does this look normal or is there something wrong with this guy? If anyone can ID the type of coral it is that would be great.

We looking at a Acan here, not sure what is on the side of it, on my laptop so I can't zoom in as I do on my phone.
