Is this normal? PH monitor

I bought this pin point monitor some time ago and never used it. I open the box and it has condensation inside and what looks like almost salt creep on the tip...

Is this normal or should I contact pin point to see if they will replace it?

The tip should always be kept wet/moist. Was it dry after you took the tip cover off? I would go ahead and try to see if it calibrates properly. Then cross check if possible with another one if you can find someone locally just to be safe.

That's usually normal, it's from the solution in the cover to keep the probe moist. If it is dry soak the probe in 4.01 calibration fluid for a day or so and then calibrate it.

Yeah its been sitting in the original box for so.e time now.... over a year. Lol I just never used it...

I just took the tip off and it's dry, I'll soak ot in the ph4.000

Liquid it came with...

I got it calibrated, thanks guys!
And once it the tank it was 8.2 which is what my red sea test was showing
