I’ve had this Deresa clam for about 3 weeks. It’s always opened up however it’s always seems to find a way on its side, but still opens wide. Today I noticed that there’s a flat spot or what might be damage and the shell separated. I’ve tried looking for other post about this but they all seem to talk about the clam always being in its side or mantle being damaged. TIA!

The mantle is designed to be pointed up to collect light from the sun. Laying on the side isn't very efficient for collecting light. I would lay the clam next to something so that it was pointed up, or get a "clam cradle" to help it remain upright.

I can't tell from the pictures if the foot is ok, or not? Unless the PAR is really high where that clam is sitting then I would want to get it pointed up and collecting solar energy asap. GL.

I’m understanding about the lighting. Look like my question was clear. I’ve circled in red what I think might be an issue, it looks flat so I’m. It sure if that’s natural. Then compared to the side that is with arrow.
