Over the weekend I stopped at my LFS and purchased a few frags as they were having a sale, A green Acropora, a red goni and a nice green hammer with two decent sized heads..the polyps were really fat. Here's what was a little odd to me, they put all 3 frags in the same small bag and I do mean a small bag. I noticed it right away when I saw the bag as I was checking out and chose to not say anything however, when I got home I noticed of course all three were touching and I noticed a lot of slime floating around in the bag as I was bag floating to acclimate them.
I used a syringe to rinse off the frags before putting them in as well as my normal dip. Roughly two days has gone by and one of the heads on the hammer still has not come out, it looks deflated as if it's got the beginnings of brown jelly or something. It was open and fat right before i bought it and has remained shriveled since transport. Does anyone think this is due to all 3 being in the same bag touching? I can understand putting the same coral species in the same bag to a degree but not 3 different species. Should I inform the LFS?
